not doing my assignment

ooo don’t get me started on self-directed education, I might go on and on and on. That is not what my assignment is on. It is on something interesting that I have been enjoying reading about, and I enjoyed learning to use Canva. However, that is not what I shall be marked on. I totally need to have the due date and the assignment spelled out for me to make the product. Does having the assessment mean I have learned more of what the assessor wants me to? Well, I did with the reading –  and that bit is so done but the actual bit where I put my thoughts together is the bit I will be marked on and boy am I finding better things to do.

So why do we assess the stuff no one wants to do?

This is my darling’s list of things she wants to do… are some things she feels she should do? I put be kind to someone and she felt that was ok. I have stated an opinion about the cello, that out of resect for the teacher (cello teachers are in short supply), she needed to do three practices a week or quit. As soon as she gets into the habit of practicing, she loves it. She just needs the odd push to remember.

These are tasks she has set herself, and she is in her room doing them. There is no assessment except hers, and I suspect she will do these things as long as she can see herself getting better. Or something better will come along, and she will do that.

I am not allowed to take a photo of her left hand or mirror writing practice because it is next to her cipher writing practice of the daily Shakespeare insult!
